NVIDIA has announced that major companies in the transportation industry are adopting the NVIDIA DRIVE Thor™ centralized vehicle computer for their next-generation consumer and commercial vehicles. These include new energy cars and trucks, robotaxis, robobuses, and last-mile autonomous delivery vehicles.

NVIDIA DRIVE Thor™ is a vehicle computing platform designed for generative AI applications in the automotive industry. It provides rich cockpit functionality, safety measures, security features, advanced automation, and autonomous driving through a centralized platform.

Mr. Shinjou Wu, Vice President of Automotive at NVIDIA, stated, “Accelerated computing has brought groundbreaking breakthroughs such as generative AI, redefining autonomy and the entire global transportation industry.” He added that following the success of the previous DRIVE Orin, mobility leaders are planning to incorporate NVIDIA DRIVE Thor™ into their next-generation AI-enabled vehicle roadmaps.

The NVIDIA DRIVE Thor™, leveraging the new Blackwell platform which delivers performance up to 1,000 teraflops and equipped with a generative AI engine and other cutting-edge features, is expected to be integrated into production vehicles as early as next year. This will enable the creation of safe and highly secure autonomous driving machines.
