Adobe Inc. has started general availability of the “Acrobat AI Assistant” (English version) for Acrobat Reader and Acrobat users. Initially released as a beta version in February, it is now available on the Acrobat Reader and Acrobat desktop versions, web app, and mobile app (beta version). A subscription costing $4.99 per month is required, available at an early access price until June 5, 2024.


The features of the ‘Acrobat AI Assistant’ are as follows:

  • AI Assistant:
    Enables chatting with PDFs and other documents. The AI Assistant offers suggestions through an intuitive conversational interface and responds based on the content of the PDF.
  • Summary Generation:
    Facilitates rapid comprehension of long documents through concise and readable summaries.
  • Intelligent Citation:
    Utilizes Adobe’s customized attribution engine and proprietary AI to generate citations, allowing users to easily verify the information sources of the AI Assistant’s responses.
  • Clear Navigation:
    Quick discovery of necessary information within long documents through clickable links, enabling efficient exploration and action on the most important details.
  • Engaging Content:
    Integrates information and formats it for use in emails, presentations, blogs, and reports, creating key points and text suited to the intended use. A “Copy” button allows for the easy creation and sharing of attractive content.
  • Respect for Customer Data:
    The Acrobat Reader and Acrobat AI Assistant features are governed by data security protocols, ensuring that the content of customer documents is neither stored nor used for training the AI Assistant without user consent.
